First, let us have the sole definition of evil as an adjective and as something descriptive. The definition above is taken from Oxford dictonaries and describes "Evil" as a trait, a characteristic of a person. However, evil might come in many different shapes and forms, sometimes even in costume - dressed up as righteousness or a necessity, one mans choice may reflect evil upon the next.
Evil is also in the silence, in the paralyzed or in the ignorance of people - but what is evil?
The word evil itself comes from old English yfel, or dutch euvel and German übel. It is often described as the opposite of Good and denotes profound immorality. It may take the shape of a force in religion, murder or violent crimes in reality. Catastrophes, traumatic accidents or political abuse and even selfishness and neglect.
There are different kinds of evil and I will sort the evil into two categories: The interpersonal evil and the evil spirit.
In this blog I will stare into all kinds of abysses to see where I can find evil and what it can tell about itself. This will not be chronological but I will do some historical research and try to include some sources. I want to take your hand on this journey and explore the "evil beyond all good", from serial killers, to mysteries and disaster!
